Objective Europe is now, and is projected to remain, the major area of the world most affected by ageing. The 3rd International Conference (Genoa 13-16 March 2002) dedicated to "Living and "healing" old age in the world", will analyse the current situation; propose new models for coping with age-related problems; build new views of ageing as a social resource, focused on citizenship and active participation. The study days are dedicated to "Global societies and old age transformations" and "Lexicalisation of old age". The full - immersion 3rd Course on Medical Anthropology and Ethno medicine (11-13 March 2002) will precede the Conference, proposing two lines: "Living old age", for health professionals, and " "Healing" old age", for people from the " third sector". The event will gather in Genoa over 700 experts, among who are renowned scientists, politicians and representatives from the highest world institutions.
