Living and "healing" old age in the world-third international conference on anthropology and the history of health and disease (WORLDAGE)

Objective

Europe is now, and is projected to remain, the major area of the world most affected by ageing. The 3rd International Conference (Genoa 13-16 March 2002) dedicated to "Living and "healing" old age in the world", will analyse the current situation; propose new models for coping with age-related problems; build new views of ageing as a social resource, focused on citizenship and active participation. The study days are dedicated to "Global societies and old age transformations" and "Lexicalisation of old age". The full - immersion 3rd Course on Medical Anthropology and Ethno medicine (11-13 March 2002) will precede the Conference, proposing two lines: "Living old age", for health professionals, and " "Healing" old age", for people from the " third sector". The event will gather in Genoa over 700 experts, among who are renowned scientists, politicians and representatives from the highest world institutions.
