Advanced detection of bone quality

Objective

ADOQ will show the potential of the analysis of bone quality based on 3D peripheral Quantified Computed Tomography and micro Finite Element Analysis through a European multi-centric clinical study on a general population and especially on elderly. ADOQ main objectives consist in: - Demonstrating the contribution of bone structure to the fracture risk - Defining normative data for bone architecture - Demonstrating the role of physical exercise to prevent osteoporosis as a prevention means and a support to treatments - Assessing the effects of decreased physical activity on bone structure deterioration on paraplegic and hemiplegic patients and on astronauts to demonstrate the effects of a lack of mechanical constraints.
