Life quality of senior citizens in relation to mobility conditions

Objective

European policy regarding the elderly aims at maintaining their mobility. This is a central element of integration in society. Often it looks as if experts know too little about elderly citizens: Senior citizens want to lead an autonomous and independent life as far as possible. The focus of SIZE is on the present mobility situation, the problems, needs and wishes of different groups of senior citizens, and parallelly on experts' view on all this. To learn this will be achieved with the help of qualitative and quantitative survey instruments, and with the help of multidisciplinary discussions, based on the survey results, in the frame of four Workshops where industry, policy makers and politicians will discuss about the results of SIZE together with senior citizens representatives and the SIZE consortium. The final product is a list of problem types and respective solution types to mobility and transport problems of senior citizens.
