Objective
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO DEFINE A NEW WAY FOR THE PRODUCTION OF GARMENTS, ESPECIALLY FOR VARIOUS STYLES, MATERIALS, COLOURS ETC. THE RESEARCH WORK WILL BE PRECEDED BY A FEASIBILITY STUDY.
THE STUDY AND THE RESEARCH WORK WILL INCLUDE SPECIFIC PROBLEMS IN THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY SUCH AS :
- DIFFICULTIES IN PROGRAMMING AND COORDINATING OF THE ASSEMBLY-LINES RELATED TO THE VARIATION IN STYLES-MODELS;
- HIGH STOCK LEVEL OF SEMI-FINISHED PARTS AMONG THE DIFFERENT WORK STATIONS;- GREAT AMOUNT OF TIME LOST IN CHANGING THREADS DUE TO CHANGES IN MATERIAL AND COLOUR;
- NECESSITY OF USING SERVICE PERSONNEL OR MECHANICAL SYSTEMS FOR THE MOVEMENT OF BUNDLES OF SEMI-FINISHED PARTS AROUND THE VARIOUS SEWING STATIONS;- FREQUENT HANDLING OF THE SEMI-FINISHED PARTS WHICH MUST BE PICKED UP AND PUT DOWN A NUMBER OF TIMES EQUAL TO THE NUMBERS OF WORK STATIONS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PRODUCTION CYCLE.
A SIMULATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM WILL BE A PART OF THE PRELIMINARY FEASIBILITY STUDY.
