CROSS-FLOW MICROFILTRATION AS AN EMERGING TECHNIQUE FOR INDUSTRIAL SEPARATION DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION OF HIGH FLUX MEMBRANES AND MODULES ALLOWING FOULING CONTROL WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF MASS TRANSFER

Objective

PVDF membranes show good results for use in cross-flow microfiltration for the sterilization of proteins and animal blood serum but chemical and plasma grafting of the membranes shows no positive effect.

A prototype for a new industrial model was developed from the Rayflow laboratory module and has given promising results using PVDF native membrane for the cold sterilization of skimmed milk.
