Relationship between demand for freight-transport and industrial effects

Objective

Modelling the factors affecting the increased demand for road freight and the way these factors relate to changes in the industrial processes and logistics.

Developing strategies and mechanisms to manage and improve road freight transport and logistics in order to maintain or improve the logistics performance and the economic competitiveness while at the same time reducing or at least delimiting the negative external costs caused by transport through environmental impact congestion.

Forecasting effects of alternative strategies in order to contribute to a comprehensive transport policy and to better assess the impact and effectiveness of different policy options.
