Objective
THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSED RESEARCH, WHICH FOLLOWS ON LOGICALLY FROM WORK CARRIED OUT BY THE ENEL ON THE PUN, ARE:
- TO EVALUATE THE CAPACITY OF THE PHEBUS RIG TO REPRODUCE PHENOMENA THAT PROVE SIGNIFICANT IN THE REFERENCE PLANT (PUN);
- TO ANALYSE ONE OF THE TESTS INCLUDED IN THE PHEBUS FP MATRIX.
THE PROPOSED RESEARCH WILL BE BASED ON THE RESULTS OF STUDIES CONDUCTED BY THE ENEL (ANALYSIS OF SEVERE INCIDENT SEQUENCES IN PWRS) AND THE UNIVERSITY OF PISA (SIMULATION OF SEVERE INCIDENTS WITH PHEBUS FP EXPERIMENTS) UNDER EURATOM - UNIVERSITY OF PISA - ENEL MULTI-PARTNER CONTRACT (SEE RSCC321087).
THE AIMS OF THE RESERACH ARE, IN PARTICULAR:
- TO EVALUATE THE INFLUENCE OF THE AEROSOL PRODUCED BY CORIUM-CONCRETE INTERACTION ON THE DEPOSITION OF FISSION PRODUCTS FORCED OUT OF THE PRIMARY CIRCUIT AND INTO THE CONTAINMENT SYSTEM OF A PWR REACTOR DURING HIGH- AND LOW-PRESSURE INCIDENT SEQUENCES.
- TO SIMULATE A TRANSIENT-TYPE SEQUENCE CHOSEN FROM AMONG THOSE INCLUDED IN THE TEXT MATRIX FOR THE PHEBUS FP PROJECT.
