MODELISATION NUMERIQUE DES GEOMATERIAUX (SOLS,BETONS, ROCHES)

Objective


A database has been established, containing information on the mechanical properties of soils, measured in situ and in the laboratory.

The calculus of structures with bituminous mix coatings was further developed. Rheological laws were established, temperature was introduced as a parameter, codes were developed to model structures, and the numerical simulations were verified by scale testing.

The dynamical behaviour of concrete under the influence of free water has been investigated experimentally.

A hypoplastic constitutive equation for soil behaviour has been developed and implemented within a nonlinear finite element code for modelling of shear band localization.

Localization limiters have been investigated in statics and in dynamics and numerical algorithms developed to implement these relationships in finite element codes.

Modelling of the behaviour of piles subjected to axial loading under compression and in tension has been undertaken and validated by experiment.

Induced anisotropy was studied experimentally, using Hostun sand and kaolinite clay, and theoretically. For sand, a model based on elastoplasticity theory was developed, with isotropic and kinematic hardening. For clay, new models included a multilaminate model and incremental nonlinear models.

A review of research developments and techniques in the domain of thermohydromechanical coupling has been published.

A mathematical model of reinforced soil has been developed, taking account of the inherent anistropic structure of such a composite. The essential features of the material were reproduced by the trend of volumetric strains was not.

The formation of joints in a water saturated, layered, hyperelastic medium as the result of internal building was modelled.
