Objective
The three research groups in Paris, Coleraine and Madrid propose to collaborate in scanning tunneling microscopy studies applied to the new high Tc superconductors. Elaboration of this films and characterisation of surface and Bulk properties by standard technics of solid state physic will be perfomed. Tunneling experiments on those films and scanning tunneling microscopy will be done to determine energy dependance and spatial variation of the gap function of the superconductor. Design and construction of a scanning tunneling microscope working at variable temperatures is required for these last studies.
