Objective
Different experimental and theoretical approaches were made in an attempt to understand the behaviour of a dense plasma such as a metal mixed with a salt of the same metal. Activity measurements have been made for all ranges of concentration. Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements have been carried out to obtain information on cluster aggregation and its bifurcation to concentration fluctuations. Good correlations have been obtained between small angle neutron scattering measurements and direct activity measurements giving some support to the occurrence of concentration fluctuations on all ranges of concentration. A theoretical study has allowed the calculation of the stability of ionic clusters.
