DETERMINATION OF THE IONS EXCHANGE AND SORPTION OF THE INORGANIC ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANES

Objective


A detailed understanding has been achieved of the mechanisms by which molecules and ions adsorb, exchange and transport within the pores of ceramic microporous membranes. Conditions for separation processes have been optimised and fouling by charged substrates (eg proteins) have been reduced, thereby improving efficiency and increasing membrane life.
