SYNTHESIS, MECHANISM AND STRUCTURE IN ORGANOPALLADIUM-CATALYSED REACTIONS

Objective



This application pertains to a collaboration of four research groups (Oxford GB, Utrecht NL and Strasbourg FR) that have complementary expertise in the field of Organic, Organometallic, Homogeneous catalysis and Theoretical chemistry. The theme of the collaboration is centered around the rational utilisation of palladium catalysed reaction routes for : Activation of aromatic C-H bonds towards oxygenation; Directed palladation applied to the catalytic synthesis of heterocyclic compounds; Controlled C-C bond formation with special emphasis on asymmetric synthesis. All of these areas will be supported by high-level quantum-chemical calculations.
