International summer school of neutron scattering

Objective

A course was provided with the purpose of introducing newcomers to the rich and varied aspects of neutron scattering.
Theoretical and practical aspects covered included:
the neutron, powder diffraction, single crystal diffraction, neutron sources, neutron instruments, small angle scattering, liquids and amorphous materials, crystal excitations, chemical spectroscopy, neutron diffraction in biology, magnetic scattering, modulated structures, procedures for performing experiments, diffuse scattering, surface studies, chemical applications, pulsed neutrons and continuous neutrons, and past achievements and future promise.
