PRODUCTION DE MESONS ETA PAR VOIES HADRONIQUES OU ELECTROMAGNETIQUES

Objective

Measurements have been made of total cross sections, differential cross sections and analyzing power in inelastic proton proton scattering in the range 325 MeV to 1012 MeV using a newly constructed large solid angle detector. The experimental setup was installed at the SATURNE synchrotron which produced polarized protons up to 1.1 GeV and pion production was measured at a range of energies between 325 MeV and 1012 MeV. Generated spectra were in very good agreement with measured values. No indication for a narrow dibaryon resonance has been found. The total cross sections followed exactly the established excitation function. The differential cross sections did not agree with some previous measurements but they are of much higher quality. The analyzing power has been measured for the first time in a systematic fashion.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
