Objective
Building of 5 prototypes greenhouses of solar and bioclimatic design, each of 1000 m2, tunnel shaped and heated by the sun and warm air to summer temperature.
The aim of these prototypes is to prove that this type of greeenhouse, which is based on recent inexpensive greenhouses, facilitates market gardening without supplementary heating for climates similar to the South of France and with a supplement of 40% for greenhouses in areas with a similar to the North of France.
This project, developed from our experience with our previous solar development project should demonstrate and validate the performance of such a system.
The principles to be used :
- Optimal form: in relation to actual tunnel shaped greenhouses
- Thermal storage :
* Accomplished with water reservoirs made from non recycled
industrial waste.
* Large greenhouse inflated by warm air from fibro-cement tubes of 75 cm
diameter embedded in the ground.
- Greenhouse reaching final state of construction in Greece.
- France : industrial co-operation and search for greenhouse builders ongoing.
This project is to develop 5 pilot greenhouses of 1000 m2 each heated by optimal solar energy and with air-conditioning at summer temperatures using solar and bioclimatic conception tunnel with double partitions. For analysis and comparison purposes a conventional tunnel shaped greenhouse will also be developed as a control. The basic principle of the solar cross-couplers has been used and the morphology of the conventional tunnels has been changed to optimise solar gain and especially to introduce a strong temperature stability established by water. A bioclimatic greenhouse will be developed in Greece, the rest of the installations will be assembled in the south of France.
