Objective
Demonstration of glazed solar collectors and energy saving measures for an indoor swimming pool in Rome.
The results of the first year show a very bad efficiency of the solar installation. Improvements will be made in 1986 :
Monitoring period : 1.7 - 31.12.84 1.1 - 31.06.85
Useful solar energy 30 MWh 13 MWh
Energy collected per m2 131 KWh/m2 57 KWh/m2
Efficiency during monitoring 19% 9%
Pool temperature 22 deg. C 20.5 deg. C
Unless a dramatic increase of the efficiency is achieved the system is not successful.
Solar heating of pool water and sanitary water for an indoor swimming facility in Roma. Pool surface 400m2. Collector surface 229m2 of glazed (icoss) collectors with stainless steel absorbers. Energy saving measures by pool cover and heat recovery from waste and swimming hall ventilation system.
Solar overcost :
The monitoring is of high level based on data logger and computerized data analysis. Done by Apre a doughter firm of Agip from 86 onwards.
