Objective
This research project is submitted in view of developing a new generation of particle detector for measuring the activity of ultra low energy isotopes. The final applications for this detector are autoradiography and medical imaging which will result in a large reduction (between 20 and 200 times) of the radioactive doses currently used in these domains. The principle of the detector is based on a high efficiency chamber that would be able to count at a level of 5 megahertz, allowing rapid quantification and measurements and leading for instance to real-time imaging of the heart after injection of an isotope. Our goal is to manufacture and market worldwide precision measurement instruments detecting low dose isotope for use in the biological and medical domains.
