Objective
There is no measuring system available on the market for the monitoring of Dioxin/Furan-emissions in the industrial combustion gas streams of for example waste incinerators, chemical production processes and steel making plants, that is easy to handle and accurate in measurement. The aim of the project is to develop a measurement unit for short and long-term sampling of Dioxin/Furan-Emissions that is portable, fully-automatic and will be able to reduce the building-up time from today's 4 - 8 h. to approx. 30 min. The development will be in 2 steps: the first step is to search for the best analytical process for the system; the second step will be to develop the sampling system which works fully-automatically and is easy to handle. The system must be portable and cheap. At the end of the development there must be a system of sampling unit and analytical process which is very accurate, easy to handle, portable and cheap. In this case there will be a great market in Europe for such a system and a very good chance for SMEs in Europe to get a new successful product onto the market.
