Development of Sandwich Materials Fatigue Testing Demonstrator

Objective

In new industrial products, designers use more and more composite materials in particular sandwich materials. These materials are used in structural applications. However there is a real lack of know-how and equipment to fully evaluate the fatigue behaviour of these materials. The scope of SMAFAT programme is to develop a new methodology and system to characterise fatigue behaviour of composite materials. The future system, issued from this programme, will be aimed at the composite SMEs, Transformers and should offer an attractive set of charcteristics (cost, performance, friendliness in use, etc...)
