Development of a low cost marker/locator system for underground detection

Objective



LOW COST MARKER TAPES CAPABLE OF BEING LOCATED BY A UNIQUE CODE SPECIFIC TO ONE TAPE CATEGORY ALLOWING THE TRACING AND DISCRIMINATION OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF BURIED NETWORK (e.g. GAS, WATER, TELECOMMUNICATIONS,...) TO WHICH THE TAPES ARE ADJACENT. THE TAPES ACT AS PERMANENT IDENTIFICATION ELEMENTS AT A DEPTH OF APPROXIMATELY 1 M AND WITH A GOOD RESOLUTION EVEN WITHIN A MIXED URBAN ENVIRONMENT, BY MEANS OF AN APPROPRIATE DETECTOR COMPATIBLE WITH CONVENTIONAL PIPE AND CABLE LOCATION TECHNIQUES ABD MEETING ALL CURRENT REGULATIONS.
