Objective
To develop an advanced design CL automated Cable Tester incorporating a high degree of novelty in its approach to performing tests to the requisite British and International standards. Aimed at the Cable Manufacturer, the tester will make Large cost savings on time and by reducing energy consumption. The proposed project meets the RTD goals relevant to the Standard Measurements and Testing Programme. The Research will be a collaboration between RTD performers and industrial SME's to transform the theory into a practical solution. In addition to the proposer companies it is planned to involve a European transformer manufacturer, software development company and a major cable manufacturer.
