Objective
Radiocommunication sector is nowadays imposed, because of its growth and segmentation, of introduction of new professional services and evolution of users' needs, to optimize permanently the radio infrastructure engineering through development of efficient networks. During the designing and expansion of a radio network, the held strength measure function has a preponderant role to: . calibrate the forecast simulation software and integrate the geographic characteristics of a town or a country, . verify the covering objectives achievement (for instance inside buildings) and optimise its expansion, . estimate pemmanently the service quality and bring solutions regarding customers' potential complains, . evaluate the service quality of competitors'networks. However, to date, there is no universal measurement system: most of the existing tools are set up from specific test terminals, measuring only one norm and one frequency. These tools are also not designed to achieve exact field-strength measurement. The purpose of the present research envisaged by BRIME, as leader of the project, in partnership with LES ELETTRONICA, is within the frame of an Exploratory Award, to characterize, develop and test an advanced, efficient, modular and generic external receiver, and also a range of modular receiver cards covering the services from 40 MHz to 2 GHz. To achieve this project, BRIME and LES ELETTRONICA are looking to develop partnership with industrial and final users.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
