Objective
THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO ENHANCE THE TRANSFER OF ADVANCED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES (AMT) INTO SME'S WHICH SUFFER (COMPARED TO LARGER COMPANIES) SPECIFIC PROBLEMS WHEN INTRODUCING AMT. REGIONAL INNOVATION CENTERS WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN OVERCOMING THESE PROBLEMS BY DEVELOPING CUSTOMISED INNOVATION CONCEPTS FOR SME'S, INCLUDING INDEPEN- DENT CHOICE OF APPROPRIATE AMT TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING PLANS THE PROJECT SUPPORTS TWO CENTERS IN ITALY AND FRANCE IMPLE- MENTING INNOVATION CONCEPTS AT ELEVEN END-USER SITES. BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE TRANSFER OF AMT TO SME'S WILL BE ESTABLISHED. AN INTERNATIONAL OBSERVER GROUP WITH PARTICIPANTS FROM OTHER EC COUNTRIES WILL ENSURES WIDESPREAD DISSEMINATION OF THE EXPERIENCE.
