Objective
A COLLABORATION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN THE AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY (FISH FARMING) IS THE MAIN AIM FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION PHASE OF THIS PROJECT.FISH-FARMING "KNOW HOW" FROM SCOTLAND WILL BE ADAPTED AND TRANSFERED TO A SERIES OF PILOT SITES IN THE INDRE REGION OF FRANCE. THESE PILOT SITES WILL BE FULL SCALE AND WILL INVOLVE CARP PRODUCTION USING NEW METHODS, LANDLOCK SALMON, EEL AND PRAWN PRODUCING UNITS. A PROCESSING FACTORY IS ALSO PLANNED AND A FURTHER EELS PRODUCTION FACILITY IN ALTURA SPAIN. TRAINING AND MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE WILL BE PART OF THE OVERALL PROJECT THUS ENSURING THE POTENTIAL FOR FURTHER SITES. THE DISSEMINATION ACTIVITY WILL INVOLVE OBSERVERS FROM OTHER PARTS OF EUROPE,SITE VISITS AND CONFERENCES. THE OUTCOME OF THE PROJECT SHOULD BE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW AQUACULTURE INDUSTRIES IN EUROPE
