Objective

A photosensitive calcium (2+) sequestering agent has been synthesised which has opened up the study of muscle relaxation.
The dynamic structural changes in muscle have been analysed using flash photolysis and time resolved X-ray diffraction.
Kinetic investigations of muscle contraction have involved novel techniques including stopped flow calorimetry.
