Objective
The active surfaces of carbon fibres following electrochemical modification have been measured. Attempts have been made to determine the number of active sites at the interface between prospective fibre and polymer matrices. Results obtained are not believed to be of direct value to future improvement of composites, but help to resolve some of the problems encountered in the surface chemistry of carbon materials.
