Objective

The interactions between metals and ceramics have been followed from a thermodynamic point of view. Models have been produced to interpret the dependence of these interactions on adhesion.
The wetting behaviour of reactive and nonreactive metal/oxide pairs have been evaluated, as has the ability to increase ceramic wettability by use of metal matrices.
