Objective
The possibility of using transplants of nerve cells as a treatment for Parkinson's disease has been evaluated. In the mouse model a temporary improvement in motor activity was achieved using nerve cell suspensions. In comparison a homogenous preparation of mesencephalic cells from embryo mice provided a supply of cells capable of developing within the host forming functional connections with neurons.
