Objective
Due to the structure of Danish business environment with a relatively high number of small and medium sized companies, and due to the nature of Danish trade with a high dependency on export and import, it is a main objective to emphasize EDI projects supporting transportation and International trade. So the Road Haulier Transport Sector has been chosen.
The aim of the TEPIT project is to transfer electronically all information required in connection with the execution of an export order. This includes transport bookings, transport instructions, loading lists, customs documents and invoices, which are exchanged between manufacturers, shipping agents, transport agents and the customs authorities.
Based on an analysis of the present document flow, some important documents will be chosen and implemented in the IFTM message standard.
In addition to ordinary gains due to rationalisation, participants expect to achieve more effective logistic solutions which minimise storage investment, improve customer service by offering more rapid and precise delivery, and increase their ability to plan and carry out export deliveries in a flexible manner.
The project will be completed during the first half of 1990.
