Objective
Construction of a demonstration plant for the cryogenic removal of CO2 from a natural gas field.
A basic design has been drafted which has the following characteristics:
- a low temperature distillation section whose refrigeration will be supplied by vaporization of produced CO2, implemented by a refrigerating cycle
- a fural purification section which will utilize the solvent for solid CO2 inhibition
- utilities and facilities relevant to the operation of distillation and purification sections.
The project has been foreseen to have the following phases:
1. Engineering of a demonstration plant for the implementation of the snamprogetti's "cryofrac" process for cryogenic CO2 removal from a natural gas
2. Construction of the plant
3. Tests for the process performances.
