CABLELESS UPHOLE DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FOR MULTIZONE COMPLETIONS ON A PRODUCING WELL

Objective

The objective is to develop the technology required to enable accurate and economic "Cableless Uphole Data Transmission" for multizone completions on a producing well. Its aim is to reduce costs, maintain accuracy and increase the efficiency of operations in the area of Reservoir Data Collection.

It is a technological development of transmitting data from downhole instruments to the wellhead using Acoustic Telemetry, using a tubing annulus filled with a kill weight solution as a path for the acoustic signal. Also, to develop the technology to be able for transmit the signal by Stress Waves through the tubing itself. Design and testing of the electronics packages, electrics and testing of batteries, and design and testing of the acoustic and stress wave transducers, will be the most significant part of the project.
Testing will include long duration tests of the system in a well working environment.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
