Objective
The objective of this study was to examine the possibility of transporting LNG for long distances. Several aspects have been considered:
- technical and technological problems
- transportation economics
- possibility of application in Community countries
- environmental impact.
Beginning with the existing state of the art and existing materials , it is possible to demonstrate the technical feasibility of an LNG pipelines. Several solutions pertaining to the structure of the line were developed. The economic study, taking into account the actual price of steel or nickle, allowed a comparison between the transportation of natural gas in its gaseous form and its liquid form. In certain cases the transport of LNG can be more economic
. This method of transport permits the retrieval of refrigeration at the pipeline terminal.
Cryogenic transport may be the solution to moving large quantities from producers to consumers. Certain schemes may be found in the Community and other countries.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
