COOPERATION FOR NOVEL CITY ELECTRONIC REGULATING TOOLS

Objective

In CONCERT, telematics will be mobilised to test the effectiveness of different ways of boosting public transport in preference to private cars, including price incentives, road-use management, and traveller information. Smart card and multimedia technologies will facilitate user access and payment in a system integrating payment and operational data. Besides this greater convenience, the system will highlight the demonstrable benefits of increased card intelligence and refined road-use management tools. Transferability is a central feature of project proposals to allow for different size cities, as well as variations in fare systems and vehicle density.
