Objective
TILEMATT will use integrated telematics to enhance interconnections between short sea routes, such as those linking France and United Kingdom or Greece and Italy, and their port terminals' European road and rail networks. On-line multimedia technologies will enable passenger and freight transport connections at ports to offer maximum efficiency, safety and comfort. Ferry multimedia systems will provide passenger booking and tourist facilities, while satellite communications will assist the smooth operation of ships, trains and vehicles on all routes. Further information at ports on traffic matters like congestions and parking will be available from public kiosks and similar outlets.
