Interconnection of the high speed rail network with other transport modes: Connection in metropolitan areas of HSR terminals

Objective

1- Carry out a comprehensive analysis of High Speed Rail (HSR) demand, identifying and describing HSR users, relevant/specific demand features and users' demand for urban intermodal connections.
2- Determine which urban transport modes/options best meet users' requirements for interconnection with HSR terminals.
3- Define priorities for the development of these interconnection options, based on an impact assessment analysis (social, economic and environment).
4- Define general policy guidelines for developping and supporting the prioritary interconnection options, addressing economic, land use, financing, tariffs, interconnection services and legal/institutional issues.
%
5- Identification of 'demand segments' within the whole body of HSR users and individuation of corresponding transport demand features.
6- Development of a cost-benefit multicriteria analysis model, calibrated in Rome, Paris and Frankfurt.
7- Recommendations for the cities of Rome, Paris and Frankfurt.
