Objectif
The aim of this project is to promote energy efficiency in the building sector through energy audits, energy rationalization plans and dissemination of the results (brochures and selected mailing).
This action represent a pilot project, aimed at a specific segment presenting special technical characteristics and not treated before. Our objectives go much further than the improvement in the specific 4 audited hotels. The dissemination of the results will show owners of this kind of hotels that energy efficiency can and must be considered as an
element of their rehabilitation projects with cost and future financial benefits.
The Center for Energy Conservation (CCE), wishing to promote energy efficiency in the building sector, proposed this project which consist in the execution of energy audits and energy rationalization plans for 4 small/medium size hotels in historical sites in Portugal (Pousadas), integrated in their global rehabilitation followed by actions of dissemination of the findings and results of the project itself. The "Pousadas" are antework of state owned hotels, some of them built in medieval or 17th to 19th century homes and sites. They started to be built some 30 years ago and are undergoing a process of rehabilitation. Our
activity will have the following steps:
- Energy audits in 4 hotels or sites whose rehabilitation is programmed for the immediate future.
- Elaboration of the correspondent "Energy Rationalization Plans", integrated in the complete rehabilitation project either in the cases of rehabilitation.
- Dissemination of the results among portuguese and other european hotel owners, architects and engineers, and their Associations, through the preparation of a brochure and the execution of a mailing selected for these targets.
