Objective
India has become an essential and strategic partner for Europe, as exemplified by the latest agreements made between them concerning science and technology. The promotion of bilateral research policies with India has been done so far at a national level but without the opportunity to manage and strengthen these actions at a European level.
AOUDA is a 18 month project, designed to analyse the present European actions and actors involved in some selected collaborations with India, in order to promote cooperation on research programmes. Its objectives are to identify representative collaborative projects with India, to analyse them from the European and Indian points of view on common criteria, and thus understanding what is perceived as relevant on both sides. It is an opportunity to evaluate international collaborations with India to prepare future research and technological development policy activities. It will allow a mutual understanding and a mapping of the actors involved in these projects, and open the way to an improvement of the interaction/cooperation both between partners in Europe and India.
The project will attain its objectives through work packages which are establishing common criteria and indicators, analysing selected programmes by panels of experts assessing success factors for Europe-India collaboration and finally disseminating the results by setting up a future joint proposal in the ERA-NET framework, designed to improve research cooperation of EU-countries with India and furthermore stimulating long term research interactions between partners.
