Objective To realize a 4 x 500 kW windpark on the outside boarders of the dike at Wieringermeer and to gain experience with similar type of installations in salty environment.Innovation lies also on the choice of the appropriate foundations.A windfarm, comprising 4 x 500 kW wind turbines, is going to be installed on the dike at Andijk. These 2-bladed wind turbines, specially designed for semi-offshore applications, have 35 meters rotor diameter and will be connected to the grid, through both a gearbox, having 1:40.6 transmission ratio and a 2 single speed 300 kW asynchronous generator, rated at 380 V.Following the installation and the commissioning phase the influence of the semi-offshore climatic conditions on the wind turbine performance will be studied. The annual yield of the wind farm is estimated at 8,000 MWh whereas for the realization of the project the proposer will cooperate with Newinco BV.
