Deliverables

  • Report on Obstacles & Barriers related to inteGRIDy Framework

Analysis of the main drivers of R&D investment and obstacles to innovation in the energy industry in general and related to the foreseen inteGRIDy innovations in particular. This analysis will be the starting point in the pilots’ deployment activities, recommending to inteGRIDy stakeholders alternative planning and energy management strategies, taking into account key factors (economic, environmental factors etc.) and giving them an insight into estimated effects

  • Smart Grid Deployment, Infrastructures & Industrial Policy applicable to the inteGRIDy pilot cases

Analysis of the functionalities, standards and interfaces used in smart metering systems being rolled-out across the EU. Considering consumer benefits, connectivity and interoperability between the metering infrastructure and other network platforms in the energy market for encouraging consumer interest in energy saving and demand flexibility actions.

  • inteGRIDy Stakeholders and Market Needs Report

A thorough review on the needs of all stakeholders and Market that are part of the inteGRIDy ecosystem in general in the beginning of the project will be performed. T1.2 will collect needs coming from the identified target groups, organizing also an International Conference (IC1) (M4, more than 100 targeted stakeholders around Europe). Different stakeholders will be invited to take part in the process, including residential customers/prosumers and high-level non-residential active users, along with services to market stakeholders (DSOs, TSOs, Aggregators and Retailers), grid and market experts as well as experts from international authorities, regulation and standards groups and representative of national and local public bodies. Discussions will evolve based on the preliminary list of Use Cases, whereas feedback will be triggered concerning the review and prioritization of the Use Cases along with issues that need to be taken into account for the replicability of the solutions. An on-line survey and interviews with experts will be conducted whereas the survey and interviews will focus on gathering experiences and recommendations on behalf of the stakeholders.

  • Report on the selected indicators and Benefit categories for Conducting Cost Benefit studies

Collection of influential indicators and benefit categories to be used for CBA of the proposed solutions promoting the RES penetration in the energy market. The CBA of storage and transmission grid will use the same boundary conditions, operating parameters, and sensitivity analysis parameters as those for the impact assessment for the selected use cases while LCC output data will be the input data used for the CBA/ CEA.

  • Plans for the dissemination, exploitation & communication of project results

The main output of this deliverable is the development, of Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication Plans in order to achieve a high level of visibility of the project outcomes.

  • Report on LCA and LCC inventory data for the use cases

Definition of the systems boundaries for the environmental assessment and Life Cycle Costing and the gathering of the primary & secondary Data inventory for the demonstrated solutions, selected as a reference, for subsequent evaluation in terms of environmental impact

  • inteGRIDy Architecture & Functional/Technical Specifications

This deliverable will be based upon Stakeholders and Market Needs (D1.1) and on use case scenarios (D1.3), and will focus on the overall architecture of the inteGRIDy Framework and on deriving the specifications on the integration of existing tools brought by the consortium partners in order to form the inteGRIDy framework.

  • Current standards & interoperability issues applicable to the inteGRIDy pilot cases

A review compliance in each of the pilot use cases to the current standards, national & EU regulatory developments. Considering interoperability between metering, system operators and other participants in the electricity system and the empowerment customers. The analysis conducted will consider IEC, CEN-CENELEC-ETSI standards and EU Directives and Recommendations (such as 2012/148/EU) and the findings of the European Smart Grid Task Force.

  • Smart Electricity Distribution Networks: Legal, Regulatory & Market Design Issues at inteGRIDy pilot cases

Analysis of the legal, regulatory and market design issues in each of the countries in which the inteGRIDy solution is to be piloted. This analysis will include an assessment of how the legal regulatory and market context in each of the pilot countries impact on the following technical and commercial arrangements required for Smart distribution networks

  • inteGRIDy Global Evaluation Metrics and KPIs

Based on the requirements elicitated in T1.2 and use-case scenarios defined in T1.3, this deliverable will define a global framework for the inteGRIDy evaluation and impact assessment in technical, economic, environmental and social terms. A global bundle of KPIs and metrics will be defined, which will be further instantiated and aligned to the different pilot cases of the project in Task 8.1, to properly address specificities of each pilot case, but also retain a uniform (and comparative) evaluation of the project results. Use-case specific KPIs will be also introduced to address unique characteristics, e.g. response failures in DR dispatch signals or effectiveness of inteGRIDy forecasts and optimizations

  • Pilot Sites Surveys, Use Case Requirements & Business Scenarios

Survey of Pilot Sites and the definition of requirements for all Use Cases. Each survey report will include an assessment of pilot facilities and infrastructures, as well a technical description of functionalities with corresponding equipment. POLIMI will conglomerate the 10 survey reports in one whole Pilot Surveying Project Report. As soon as pilot surveys are complete, data requirements for each pilot/Use Case needs to be defined. Furthermore, the definition of a range of User & Business Scenarios will be conducted, where the innovative developments of inteGRIDy will be evaluated. Scenarios will be defined for different type of buildings and stakeholders and will follow a scenario-based gathering process that will comply with the IEEE guidelines (ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:2011). The process for drafting inteGRIDy Use Cases will enable the consortium to capture, analyze and communicate stakeholder needs for the proposed technology in an effective manner.

  • Project Website & Social Media

This deliverable consists in establishing and conducting the overall Web and Social Media presence of the project: (i) the project portal, which will contribute to creating awareness about the inteGRIDy project and its objectives. (ii) Exploitation of popular web 2.0 channels and social media and engaging the web community as multipliers of the knowledge.

  • inteGRIDy Data Management Plan

Analysis of the cyber security & privacy issues in the context of each of the demonstration sites countries, taking into account guidelines for appropriate security measures for smart grids published by European Network and Information Security Agency. This deliverable will include the elaboration of the Data Management Plan (DMP) for the participation to the ‘Pilot on Open Research Data in Horizon 2020’, comprising of (i) handling of research data during & after the project (ii) what data will be collected, processed or generated (iii) what methodology & standards will be applied and (iv) whether data will be shared /made open access/ how data will be curated and preserved.
