Digital Ontology-based Modelling Environment for Simulation of materials

Project description

An industry-ready modelling framework for materials simulation

Used to predict a material’s properties when experiments are too complex or uneconomical, materials simulation can save costs during product development. Furthering the usefulness of materials simulation, the EU-funded SimDOME project intends to develop an industry-ready software framework for materials modelling interoperability based on European materials modelling standards. It will achieve this by merging, further developing and adapting software developed in previous European projects. The highest level of interoperability will be achieved by standardising the material users cases. The framework will also provide ready-to-use modules covering different industrial applications and materials modelling fields. The project may lead to advances in the fields of gas and liquid phase material synthesis, molecule characterisation and chemical kinetics.
