Objective
This project represents one step in the direction of harmonising data exchange in the field of nephrology (renal and kidney care). It brings together medical professionals, dialysis and transplantation centres and health authorities, connecting them to a national and international network. NDSNET provides the European Community with an interface between heterogeneous nephrology data systems and the information highways. The benefits of NDSNET to the partners and patients are manifold, and include mobility of the patient, exchange of data on different levels, data security provided on several database and record levels, and gateways to external systems.
