Objective
We intend a quantitative study of in-medium transport properties of hadrons, quarks and gluons by studying cluster formation in ultrarelativistic heavy ion reactions. The combination of relativistic transport approachs with final state phase space coalescence models describes well the production of nuclear bound states. Their spectra are sensitive to phase space correlations (source sizes, freeze-out densities, collective flow) and in-medium modifications of hadrons. It has been shown that additional pressure employed by in-medium potentials (compared to the pure cascade picture) is necessary to understand recently observed flow phenomena and event shape correlations.
We will employ interactions based on chiral lagrangians containing the basic symmetries of QCD to improve these still qualitative studies. Chiral restoration, the transition into resonance matter and the production of exotic states (antimatter, strange cluster) inhighly excited matter will be studied in detail. The cluster phase space distributions will be used to interprete recent experimental proton-cluster HBT-analysis.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
