Optimisation of cogeneration systems in a competitive market environment (OSCOGEN)

Objective

The efficient operative cogeneration system supports the energy and environmental policy objectives of the EU. Additionally this helps to increase the competitiveness of CHP systems and hence the share of environmentally sound combined heat and Power production. In view of this background the aim of the project is to develop an optimisation tool for the cost and resource efficient operation of CHP systems and to apply it within a case study in cooperation with a utility. This tool will be based on stochastic optimisation and genetic algorithms.
Compared to existing approaches this new approach promises to find faster more accurate solutions for the operation of CHP systems in a competitive energy market given the fact that uncertainties are adequately taken into consideration.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
