Objective
The aim of the project is to establish the general frames for out-door sustainable pig production systems, which subsequently can be introduced in all EU countries and prospective EU countries, giving rise to pork including quality characteristics demanded by consumers of today and tomorrow. That is to say production of fresh pork and possibilities for production of processed products, which correspond to the increasing demands of European consumers regarding safety, nutritional quality, eating quality, improved shelf-life and production with high degree of animal welfare and care for the environment. Moreover, to predict the market possibilities of analogous high quality pork products a thorough analysis will be performed regarding consumer responds and demands of that kind of pork within different European countries.
