Objective Flood disasters as a direct consequence of ecosystem destruction. They cause massive losses of human lives and economical damages in the Asian tropical and subtropical region. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt measures suitable to protection and sustainable upgrading ecosystem for preventing flood disasters. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for an exchange in knowledge and experience between European and Asian scientists in this domain. 70 scientists and economists (15 from Europe, 20 from Asia and 35 from Vietnam) will be attended in the workshop , which will be held for 4 days in Hanoi, Vietnam. The immediate issue of the workshop will be to constitute a working team for preparing a pilot research project on protection and upgrading of ecosystem for preventing flood disasters with an application to a typical drainage basin in a Southeast Asian country.
