Objective
The primary objective of the proposed project is the development of reliable instrumentation for the continuous measurement of atmospheric proxy radicals by the chemical amplification method. The project proposes to develop ongoing research activities in the area of chemical amplification methodology in order to develop a device enabling online, in-situ, measurement of proxy and oxy radicals in air. This technique has been shown to be practicable under laboratory conditions. However there are still a number of problems with respect to calibration and design of instrumentation tenable portability for direct field measurements. The project will research and develop the sensor for testing by the SME partners, who will then be positioned to utilise and exploit the instrumentation resulting from the project. The primary goal of the project will thus be the provision of a working sensor system together with full calibration facilities in order to prove the technique .

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
