Clean technology hydrogen peroxide generation

Objective

The proposal addresses the use of a modern innovative electrochemical approach to solve the problem of zero-emission production of hydrogen peroxide. The method to be developed is based on the use of polymer fuel cell technology employing membranes and electro catalysts specifically developed for the production of hydrogen peroxide. The modular character of the equipment will ensure a more widespread use of peroxide as a benign oxidizing agent and the integration of its modular production into chemical manufacturing, bleaching and disinfections. The concept to be developed has not only direct environmental benefits (the by-product of its use as an oxidation reagent is water) but will reinforce the European position in modern chemical manufacturing and clean electrochemical technologies. The simultaneous production of a valuable chemical and of energy will represent an important advance in manufacturing.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
