Objective Description:Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) was established during 1990 as a focus for the University of Edinburgh's work in high performance computing. The Centre's task is to accelerate the effective exploitation of high performance parallel computing systems throughout academia, industry and commerce. It houses an exceptional range of computers, with over 45 full-time staff committed to the solution of real-world problems. The Centre's goal is achieved through a range of activities spanning undergraduate and advanced training programmes, service provision, industrial affiliation and contract work, and participation in European and UK government funded collaborations. The Training and Research on Advanced Computing Systems (TRACS) Programme at EPCC has been running since 1993, offering consultancy and support from EPCC's experienced staff and opportunities for scientific collaboration with researchers working in similar fields at the department which hosts the visit. Visitors benefit from access to some of the best HPC facilities in Europe and have the opportunity to attend a variety of courses on High Performance Computing.Application:Application is by the on-line form, available at http://www.epcc.ed.ac.uk/tracs.Project Manager:Arthur Trew, EPCCJames Clerk Maxwell Building, the King's Buildings, Mayfield Road, Edinburgh EH9 3JZ, United KingdomTel: +44-131-6505025Fax: +44-131-6506555E-Mail: A.TREW@epcc.ed.ac.uk Programme(s) FP5-HUMAN POTENTIAL - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base" (1998-2002) Topic(s) 1.4.1.-2. - Access to Research Infrastructures Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme LFC - Access to Research Infrastructures Coordinator UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH EU contribution No data Address Mayfield Road Kings Buildings EH9 3JZ Edinburgh United Kingdom See on map Total cost No data
