Advanced control algorithmS for ProgrammablE logic ConTrollers

Objective

The objective of this project is to develop an easy-to-use and portable software building block referred to as Run Time Module that will improve operation of industrial systems through control of demanding processes. It will run on standard PLC platforms or intelligent remote terminal units making use of one of the IEC1131-3 standard languages or an equivalent solution in the Windows CE environment.

It will be developed in three variants: the first one including fuzzy gain-scheduling; the second one rule-based neural control; and the third one model-predicative dead-time compensation algorithm. A Configuration Tool will be also developed, the product will be marketed to end-users, mostly in the process industries, to manufacturers of PLC's, and to control engineering companies.

The objective of the project comply with those of the Key-action 1.1.3-1. and are especially relevant to the objectives quoted under (Efficient production, including design, manufacturing and control).

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
