Models of managing conflict in post-Soviet States

Objective

The project has the objectives:
a) Developing theory of ethnopolitics for complex societies and conflict prevention activities in transforming post-Soviet states;
b) Collecting data and modeling ethnopolitical situation, minorities status, forced migrations, demography changes, conflict cases and conflict prevention experience. Construction a database "Conflicting Ethnicity in post-Soviet States" for Internet access;
c) Analytical and policy-oriented study of the role of ethnic factor in transition to market economy and democratic rule;
d) Researching and assessing information for policy-oriented recommendations in the field of governance and conflict prevention;
e) Producing annual Internet-report on ethnopolitical situation in the NIS (to be placed on website with the database);
f) Producing two-years final report on the status of conflict, the culture of tolerance and protection of minorities in NIS states. The report will be published in a monograph format ("Status of Conflict in Post-Soviet States", 400-450 pages.)
Expected results:
1). Annual Internet-report on ethnopolitical situation in the NIS (each 10 months of project duration).
2). An open Internet access to special English-Russian database "Conflicting Ethnicity in post-Soviet States".
3). The theory of methodology and practice of researching, modelling and managing conflicts in post-Soviet States.
4). The final report "Status of Conflict in Post-Soviet States", 400-450 pages).
